Not about the baby. Well, not entirely.

Mama got a new pair of shoes. Sensible shoes. Because, don't you know, you can't cuddle a baby in 4 inch heels.
I'm wearing them right now as I write this.

And can I tell you that the orange is kind of neon. Gorgeous. I've been in a bright color kind of mood. Maybe it's because I have the best baby in the world.

I've been wearing these a lot lately but they're looking a little tired. Kind of a ghetto picture.

And I think I kind of want these.

I've added them to my wish list, fyi.

In other news, Andoe and I are a big fan of the popcorn sampler. On a good day we will go through half of the tin.
That is what I'm doing as I write this.
Feast your eyes on this:

Now I'm going to go make a movie with my new camera.

What we do when it's snowing

We listen to James Taylor early in the morning.

We stretch our legs.

We take long bubble baths.

Play with all of our presents!

And get frustrated after several minutes of tummy time.

I love my new Flip camera!

Fail

Remember when I said we removed our little bundle of joy from the bed? Well, that didn't last very long. He's back. And happy to be there I might add. We will try to address this issue again in the future, but in the meantime we are happy to have him along with his serious gas problems.

Notice the space between me and Andoe? Yeah, well, that used to be non-existent. For like 8 years!!!

(Is that picture crooked? Well, you should see the rest of the house.)

Remember when I said I wanted my hair to be like Jenny Lewis'? Well, that also did not last very long. Behold my mom hair:

All is good otherwise. I am being all crafty Cathy over here, and trying not to forget how to speak like an adult.

Peace out and Archie says hi.

Christmas will be forever changed

Archie and I are going to buy a Christmas tree today, because obviously somebody is in the holiday spirit.

On to the next challenge

I have officially kicked my son out of our bed. In the beginning it was all hunky dory. He didn't move much and barely made a sound. Now that dude is squirmy mcsquirmerson and feels it necessary to moan and groan all night. This is all cute and adorable (DURING THE DAY!) but when you are trying to get that much needed sleep this can become a bit much. Therefore, I have taken on the task of getting up 3 or more times a night to feed, burp and soothe him. Eventually I'm sure I will get used to it, but in the meantime I am surviving on 2 cups of extra bold sumatra coffee and many headstands to force some sense into this thing in my head called a brain.

Morning baby

Archie is a morning baby as you can see in this photo. He wakes up with a smile on that cute face and likes to chat for a couple of hours. After that he usually sleeps on and off for most of the day and then he's good to go again in the evening. Things are definitely coming together and he is just so much fun to be around. All my energy these days is focused on getting that boy to smile.

It looks like this is a mommy blog for now. One day I might have something else to talk about. Please don't leave me =)

Proud

This little guy loves to be read to and nothing soothes him more than the western themes of Al Caiola.

1 month portrait

Today he put himself to sleep. Trust me people, that is huge!
